Nat King Cole’s Legacy Lives On Through South Florida Youth

A musical legend at age 45, television star, husband and father, Nat King Cole had many accomplishments in his life prior to his untimely death. He spent over 25 years in show business breaking down many racial barriers that stood before him, paving the way for today’s African-American artists topping the charts. Now, his twin daughters Timolin and Casey Cole want to honor their father’s illustrious past by inspiring the performers of the future.

The Cole twins have founded Nat King Cole Generation Hope, Inc., a 501(c)(3) that has been established to provide musical instruments, seminars, recording equipment, and mentoring programs to students in South Florida. “The foundation’s mission is to enrich the lives of youth with music, much how our father, Nat King Cole, enriched all of our lives with his artistry,” explained Timolin Cole.

To launch the foundation and kick-off its fundraising efforts, the Cole twins are hosting an intimate black-tie gala, chaired by philanthropist and international financier Al Malnik and his wife Nancy Malnik. The event will take place on Saturday, November 29th at The Forge – the Miami Beach restaurant and bar that serves as the institution of elegance and taste, and founded by Al Malnik in 1968. This historic landmark and American icon, which has received a myriad of awards and accolades, has been the home of great musical events throughout the years including performances by Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. “It is the perfect place to honor our father and kick off the foundation,” stated Casey
