Michael Capponi--MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Michael Capponi, hospitality entrepreneur, real estate developer and chairman of Capponi Building Company, has partnered with the Miami Rescue Mission to feed the homeless again this year in downtown Miami on Thanksgiving Day. This grassroots effort has grown into a larger outreach initiative that will include the services of physicians, addiction specialists, restaurants, and volunteers at no charge to the community. New this year is a free clothing store where donated clothing will be distributed.

"The Great Thanksgiving Banquet" will take place on Thursday, Nov. 22, from 10:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. between the blocks of NW 20th and 21st Streets, west of North Miami Avenue.

-Approximately 1,500 meals will be provided by Boston Market and have been generously donated again this year by Market America and Janni-King. Opium Group is donating beverages and Shareef Malnik of the Forge is providing buses to transport guests from the surrounding Miami neighborhoods. The buses will also be used for volunteers to hand deliver meals and tote-bags filled with hygiene products to those who cannot attend the block party. In addition, since it wouldn’t be a party without him, DJ Irie will also be returning this year. Volunteers of all ages are welcome.

"This Thanksgiving volunteer effort has become one of the most important initiatives in the city, and continues to draw support from many different individuals and groups,” Capponi said. “We welcome Miamians who want to join us and lend a hand."

Donations such as shoes, new packaged undergarments and socks, clothing, blankets, and baby clothes, are welcome and should be delivered before Thanksgiving to Miami Rescue Mission, 2159 NW 1st Court, Miami. For info, call 305-571-2245. Monetary donations can be sent to: Miami Rescue Mission, PO Box 420620, Miami, FL 33242
